The founder, Marcellin Bourdillon, hit upon the company name in 1974. He took the first letters of French words « COmmerce et Représentation pour l’Océan Indien » and created COROI.

Since then, COROI Maurice has been recognised as a leading distributor of chemicals and equipment.
